Combines Aloe Vera Fibersol2® and Fig extract to provide a unique fibre drink. Aloe Vera and Fig extract are well-known for their beneficial properties, Aloe Vera having the ability to aid the absorption of vitamins and minerals.

Aloe Vera information

Our aloe vera juices contain 2500 – 4000mg of MPs (methylalcohol precipitating solids – polysaccharides) per litre of juice dependent on seasonal changes.

• Our Aloe Vera juice, made from 100% organic Aloe Barbadensis (Miller), is certified by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) and complies with the Health Food Manufacturers Association (HFMA) Aloe standard.


• We use both the inner fillet leaf gel and a small amount of the whole leaf, since there are some active components in the outer rind.


• Using the inner gel means that some plant fibre is retained and the final juice is less bitter.


• Our juices typically contain 500mg to 1500mg of polysaccharides.


• Aloe barbadensis naturally contains 1000mg to 5000mg per litre of the methanol-precipitable solids. The primarly mucilagenous polysaccharide is believed to be glucomannan although there are many other components.


• We have a strict process of selecting only mature and fresh Aloe.
  
• Aloe barbadensis is highly prone to yeast and mould growth and bacterial degradation, for example just 30 minutes after the gel is expressed the lactic acid content (caused by fermentation) can double! Consequently, to keep aloe vera stable it is important to add some preservatives to maintain product that is safe to drink. Our aloe vera juice is preserved with potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate. Potassium sorbate is one of the most widely used food preservatives, for example in wine and soft drinks to bread, cereal, jam and soup. It is the potassium salt of sorbic acid, which is found naturally in certain fruits such as mountain ash berries. Sodium benzoate is the salt of benzoic acid, which naturally occurs in many foods such as cloves, cranberries and prunes. Unless you have a specific allergy to these ingredients or foods there are no known safety issues. We also include ascorbic acid (vitamin C) for its natural antioxidant effect. Our Soil Association certified Aloe Vera juice is preserved with only citric acid, this does help to prevent bacteria proliferation, however it is not nearly as effective as the preservatives we use, therefore the product must be used within one month of opening; even stored correctly unopened it still cannot achieve the 2 year shelf life that is attainable with more effective preservatives.

100% Aloe Vera Juice, Fibresol 2 (natural soluble dietary fibre from corn starch 16%) Fructose, Aqueous Soft Extract of Figs (1%), Fig Flavour (natural source), Ascorbic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate.

As a liquid food supplement, take 50ml direct or mixed with water. Each 50ml serving contains 8g of Fibersol2. Avoid use whilst pregnant or breast feeding. Not suitable for infants. Shake well before use. Refrigerate after opening and consume within one month. Keep out of the reach of children.
